Theramint, coupla questions..

I tried the GK-3 install on mine near the bridge and was really precise about the spacing. The biggest problem I had was a massive hum coming through the GK-3 output. I assumed it was due to the EMF generated by the Moog. Is my GK-3 defective, or did you experience ...

Bryan,

I tried it using ann MP-201 to gennerate the sample-annd-hold control voltage. As I suspected, the effect isn't very interesting. It takes a fairly long time for changes in the harmonic blend control to affect the sound, so the effect is quite subtle.

Since we're talking dream Moog guitars, mine would have:

semi-hollow body
16" radius and 25 1/5" scale (I have big hands)
Moog electronics, obviously
Gibson robotic tuners
RMC 13 pin electronics
LR Baggs active piezo preamp w/mini microphone for acoustic sounds

If Moog and Gibson sold those ...

I'm seriously blown away by this level of responsiveness by a manufacturer!

BTW, I just received my MP-201. Unfortunately, I need to go to happy hour with the boss tonight, so I may not get to play with it until ...

Well, I just ordered the MP-201. I don't have an MF104z yet, but will get around to it eventually regardless of sync headaches.

In the meantime I'll be using the MP-201 with a Roland GR300+custom bus converter that lets me use a 13-pin instrument and also gives me CV input for LFO depth as well as ...

can MP-201 sync MF-104z delay time to MIDI?

I'm planning on getting an MP-201 to do various things, and one of the things I was considering would be to use it to sync the delay time of the MF-104z to MIDI.

Is this possible? I've looked through the MP-201 manual, but all it says is: "MF-104: Plug into the TIME jack. Set the TIME knob CCW."

I ...

*sigh* I was going to post this information myself, but was too depressed about it.

On the bright side, I received my custom built 13 to 24 pin Roland bus converter. So when the Vo is in my hot little hands, I can immediately saddle it with a GK-3 and use it with my GR300. :)

I am such a geek.

I just spoke with my Sweetwater guy, and now he says delivery dates from Moog are vague. This time, it's "maybe the second week of October".

It's all good. I've got plenty of other guitars to amuse me until then. Plus I'm working on getting a killer looping rig together. After I get the guitar I'm ...

Unfortunately, I have not received delivery. I was referring to the picture of the pedal on the Moog site.

But Oct. 3 is rapidly approaching...hopefully there will not be another delay!

Thoughts on the control pedal CV input

I see the control pedal has a CV input, but it's unclear how that's used in conjunction with the foot pedal. I.e., does the CV signal over-ride the foot pedal? Or is it possible to use the foot pedal to control one function (e.g. harmonic balance) while using the CV input to control a different one ...

The VG-99 thing is just a crazy thought! I'm a bit more of a luddite...my thinking was to get a 13 pin to 24 pin converter and drive the GR-300 with the Moog Guitar. Yes, I know it would be a relatively limited rig, but within its parameters, I think it would rule.

I ordered my MG a couple of ...

I must admit, I've been thinking the same thing. I've got a GK-3 lying around from a GR-20 purchase, but I've got a Godin Multiac Jazz, so the GK-3 was redundant.

If I can set it up without damaging or modifying the guitar, I'm definitely doing it.

Can't wait until I actually get it!!!!
