MIDI Clock divider question

Post by Bryan T » Thu Oct 23, 2008 2:11 pm

This is probably a basic MIDI question. Is there an easy way to get time values longer than a whole note from the MIDI clock? Sometimes I would like to sync an LFO every two or four measures instead of every measure. I realize I could cut my MIDI tempo in half or in quarter, but it there another way?

Thanks,
Bryan

the other way is for more/longer time divisions to be added in firmware. I'm on it.

I'm seriously blown away by this level of responsiveness by a manufacturer!

BTW, I just received my MP-201. Unfortunately, I need to go to happy hour with the boss tonight, so I may not get to play with it until tomorrow. Argh!

So, umm, any progress on getting a factory option for RMC 13-pin electronics on the Vo?

Same here! It is one of the benefits of buying from a smaller company that is developing a new product. Keep that appreciation in mind when you encounter bugs.

Another thing on the same topic:
According to the manual there should be dotted 1/32 and 1/32, but the 201 does not seem to aggree. (But it has 1/8 triplet that is not in the manual).
It would be nice to have 1/32 and 1/64. Not because 1/64 "makes sense" musicly, but it is cool to be able to have a e.g. 1/8 note rhythm that once in a while pops into something really fast.
It might be a problem to send out lfo as midi cc in high tempos, but I only use the CV out, and the lfo can here go well into audio range with no problem. So maybe you could limit the cc out range, but make the CV range go higher?
