All the SP LIVE PERFORMERS
Regarding the moog is a "analog osc machine" that needs retuning, warming up, etc, those might be issues all live performers might be taking care about!!
--> Please, feel free to give suggestions and tricks or tell your experiences about playing shows and/or touring with the SP, this is my most worrying fact about the SP.

1. Travel Case (original or custom made) - must have!
2. I always warm-up my Phatty at least 15 mins before my set, then turn off auto tuning to avoid '1st note delay' issue (if you don't touch keys ~15 seconds, phatty goes to auto-tuning mode, and then when you start playing, the first note you play sounds with some audible latency - the synth needs some time to revert from auto-tuning mode)
3. I use Perform Set menu to store your favourite presets
4. I use Pot Map feature to assign common contollers. For example, I assign Cutoff to Modulation knob, don't need to switch between cutoff and resonance in panel's Filter section.

What about a rack or mixer case?

mixer case allows for an adjustable angle

You need the ears though: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PhattyEars

Re: All the SP LIVE PERFORMERS !! issues-solutions
thanks Sir, though i'm in Hungary, and this would only be the need for one gig - so i see no reason why to buy a rack case (yet). i'd rather stick to getting any safe gig bag for a nice price. maybe the LP gig bag would do it anyway, i don't know. it's only my supposition that once the LP is larger, its gig bag is no good for a SP in any way.Sir Nose wrote:What about a rack or mixer case?

Never thought of that, cheers!4. I use Pot Map feature to assign common contollers. For example, I assign Cutoff to Modulation knob, don't need to switch between cutoff and resonance in panel's Filter section.
I've never had a problem with lag with the auto-tune..maybe i just havent noticed it yet,
anyway I find by time I've turned it on, gone through soundcheck etc, at least 15min has passed so it's all warm and yummy.
Live, I use the LP with the Moog multi-pedal controlling the mod wheel via midi,
also the multi pedal sends a Sample and Hold signal to my ring mod frequency input, so with the mix at about 10'oclock on the ring mod there's a swampy S/H rhythm tickling the moog bass.
On top of that I have the LP controlling a Korg Ms2000R for a bit of polyphony in the background/top end, doing strings and other weird noises on top of the moog bass.
So at the end, I have 6 oscillators firing at once, 7 if you include the ring mod

If you have a midi controller make sure you have a decent power source.
My power cable on my controller came loose, only took half a second to get it back in but the SP was stuck ringing the same note and you'll have to cycle the power.
Can take a good few seconds to be back where you can start playing again.
I also like to keep a tuner plugged into the headphone out - you can just hit the output button to kill the main audio out and tweak the tuning between songs - this is especially good if you don't have enough time for it to fully warm up.
