What's the difference?

The tech told me that since white wine is usually sweeter, it's usually more corrosive. Although I guess a sweeter red and drier white might be equally bad...

The pasta, being a non-conductive material, will cause no harm to the inner workings of your Phatty, other than adding a few carbs to the analog circuitry.
