Voyager Keyboard Not Working

Post by bamse » Sat Sep 05, 2009 10:23 am

After coming back from vacation my Voyager is not making any sound when played and I'm not sure why. It worked before I left...

Filter's open, attack is down. It does make sound when I activate the Env. Gate and also when I use another MIDI keyboard to trigger it. Local is On.

Any idea what's happening?

Call Moog, it sounds like the keyboard scanner board may need to be replaced. The same thing happened to mine a week after I bought it. I sent it in to Moog, and they they replaced the board, and went through the rest of it as well. However, others have had Moog send them the part, and they were able to replace it themselves. Hopefully, it's still under warranty.

Sorry.

Which OS version are you using? You can turn of the keyboard but let the panel work on a new version.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16 (sold)

@mayidunk. Hopefully that's not the case. Thanks for the info. I'll contact them.

@till. How do you turn off and on the keyboard and could it have happened by itself somehow?

Option 1.2, Midi Local Control, under the Master Menu.

Oh... Local. Yeah, as I mentioned in my first post, Local is on. Headphones and Stereo out have been tried. I checked the cables and the headphones to make sure they worked and were plugged in. So it looks like it's the board then. Yikes. Good thing I kept the box... Thanks for the help.

At least you can limp along with an outboard keyboard for now. Let us know how it all turns out.

I had the same problem when I booted my voyager the first time, I nearly cried thinking I bought a second hand broken voyager only to find out after a bit that the previous owner used an outside master keyboard to play it lol

I requested an RMA # here: http://www.moogmusic.com/service/ but I've yet to receive a reply even though Moog said it would take 24 hours... Anyone requested an RMA online? How long did it take for a response?

Edit:

I called Moog tech support. After going overt a few things with me, they issued the RMA right there and then. I didn't use the email option.
