Is there a way to record via MIDI with the LP via USB?
Is there a way to record via MIDI with the LP via USB?
I purchased a M-Audio Uno Midi USB device, and was wondering if there is any way that I can use the device to record music to a midi file on my laptop via USB. Does that sound logical?
Re: Is there a way to record via MIDI with the LP via USB?
You don't record music that way, you record midi data containing information about which key is pressed when and how hard (and a lot of other parameters). But you don't record the actual sound. To do that you need to connect to a line input on a sound card.
You can catch the midi data from you LP with a number of applications: MIDI-OX, Cubase, Reason etc.
Then you can use the midi data to re-play the music on any midi equiped instrument, hardware or software.
