shipping on Moog shirts and stuff?

Hey I know we mostly talk music and stuff here, but an issue regarding the apparel, why is regular shipping $15.25 for 1 shirt within the US? Can someone from Moog who is in charge of this area respond? This is absolutely ridiculous.

We discussed it. We got no reply:

You should try being in the UK if you want to be truly ripped off.

My Moog hoody cost $60 with shipping to Florida but it’s a Moog so…

Besides, I seriously doubt Moog is getting rich off of any of their high prices, more like surviving. It’s a niche market and should be kept alive at all costs.

Hmmm… sorry but Moog is a business, not a charity. They still have to make products at prices that people are prepared to pay. They will survive or not based on that. i was happy to pay for my new Taurus 3, but i draw the line at inflated merc shipping prices.

Ohh, you draw the line at their inflated shipping prices? Well guess what, YOU DON’T HAVE TO BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. Pretty simple really. They’re not obligated to cut prices for you or anyone else.

Moog is a small company that makes specialized products, and I guarantee they lose a fair amount of profit on warranty work considering how sensitive their electronics are. They have to make up for those losses somehow.

Lots of people that think Lamborghini’s should be more reasonably priced for those of us that can’t afford them, but that will never happen.

An alternative to UPS rates isn’t asking for the moon.

If some Ebay clod working out of his closet can mail a t-shirt for $5 it rationally follows that ANY manufacturer with the aim of reaching the domestic US market should be able to do the same.

As far as warranty work, I’ve never had any done. I seriously doubt the Moog business plan includes balancing the cost of warranty repairs with using UPS exclusively for shipping.

Which is exactly what i was saying - whereas you were saying we should buy Moog stuff so that they are kept alive at all costs, so off your high horse.

I never said you SHOULD buy Moog stuff to keep them alive.

What I did say is quit complaining about their high prices because their high prices will keep them from going under.

Well I have, three times.

Again, if you don’t like the shipping costs don’t order from Moog.

We’re talking about the shipping - which i assume Moog make no profit on otherwise that would be false advertising. And we’ve seen that shipping can be cheaper, so how is it in their interest to use the most expensive shipper - do they use velvet-lined parcels or something? If you’re saying they take a cut of the shipping i think that would be a dodgy business practice.

I assume you love Moog products. Why then do you insist on badgering Moog about changing their shipping prices?

Just don’t order from Moog, it’s so simple a solution a child can understand it.

And if you’re here to insinuate that Moog is a dodgy company I really hope you get banned because we don’t need your type around here.

Moog probably doesn’t ship enough to get decent discounts itself.

“Big companies” might discount their shipping because a) they ship lots of stuff and receive a better price from the shipping company and b) have enough stock turnover to even make a slight loss on postage.

The best I can suggest is to try and group multiple purchases together; last year I bought 4 t-shirts, the Voyager 3.X upgrade and the Minimug all at once.

I want to support Moog Music, and I want their products, however I can understand the frustration when we are used to lower prices for shipping.

Perhaps if you asked they could send it via priority mail?

Sorry are you even reading the posts? It’s you that is insinuating that Moog was making money from the shipping. You’ve got some attitude there.

You’re crying a river about high shipping prices, I’m only justifying the prices.

YOU are the one suggesting that if they’re making anything off of it, it’s dodgy.

You’re a wormy little fellow aren’t you?

i don’t wish this thread to devolve into personal insults so i shall make no further comment.

Personally I hope Moog is making a profit off of their high shipping fees. I think Moog deserves all the profit they can get since they produce the best gear around.

Hell I just paid $3200.00 for a Voyager, what’s an extra $15.25 for shipping on a freaking t-shirt?

Bottom line is, if you don’t like Moogs high shipping prices don’t order from them.

A Moog anything is a want and not a need - it still does not justify shipping charges that are well above the industry norm. I love Moog and their products as much as anyone, but if MarbledMoog & Mr. Ardakin wish to voice an opinion regarding shipping prices, this is the place to do so, and everyone here should be allowed to speak their minds without getting personally insulted for doing so. If anyone here deserves to be spanked for bad attitude or lack of forum etiquette, it should be you.

I can voice my opinion here all I want too.

So true, but you don’t have the right to toss around personal insults. Nobody here does.

So Mr Arkadin suggesting Moog is intentionally ripping people off is not an insult?
