The iMoog. A MemoryMoog+ with USB in and out for interconnectivity to an iPod or iPhone. Also, MIDI over USB as well as soundboard capabilities. Built in drum machine similar to the Linn-Drum II, called the Moog DrumEmulator. ![]()
manymoog? in reference to the many notes it can play?..
I quite like the phat bastard idea though.
Bah USB/MIDI
Make sure it runs on OSC.
I quite like Megamoog as it reminds me of two things I love dearly. Megaman and Moog.
I just have to respectfully disagree with the name. I can’t wait for a day where I dont have to hear another “i” product again haha. iMoog sounds like a VST.
Yeah, no kidding. By the way, the Linn Drum 2 appears to be dead in the water.
yeah I was wondering about the Linn Drum 2.
This will probably be the least popular post on the forum, but…
I think that Moog should not bother with a polyphonic synth. There are quite a few good ones out now and the ‘cost to Moog’ ratio would probably be too high for all but a very few to purchase. Trying to build a discrete poly would be cost prohibitive and doing one with LSI chips would be akin to everything else out there. So, My thought would be for them to continue in the building of their thinly disguised modular components, phenominal monophonic sysnths and continue to experiment with other items (Guitars, theremins, controllers.)
I know I would never be able to afford a new Moog poly based on the cost of the existing product line. But I can afford an Andromeda or Waldorf. Moog would have a tough time beating either of those machines in price/value. I would not buy Moog for name or nostalgia at a rarified price higher than those machines. (I think a Moog guitar is cool, but $2000 out of my price range. How much does an ebow cost? I use one of those with my $650 guitar. Not the same, sure. But still sustains until the battery goes dead!)
I’d hate to see them go the way of ARP trying to build an unsaleable machine.
I have a E.bow too and.. there is no comparison with a Ebow where you can only sustain one string at a time (the raking effect is cool but gets old) rather then sustaining all 6 strings simultaneously..
mind you, you can buy pickups for around 240$ that will do that too..
That was a joke. ![]()
I would love to see moog put out a polyphonic synth. I would buy that thing in a second! ![]()

2nd that
I have but one major request for any polyphonic synth Moog may make:
Let it be a PolyMoog style chassis rather than a MemoryMoog style Chassis so that we Voyager/Phatty owners can rest out Voyagers/Phatties on the top.
And if we have Taurus Pedals on Order, we can put those underneath the Polyphonic synth some it will essentially be a modern version of this

Thats all I ask Moog.
All I have to say is I would put my kidney on the black market if I needed to in order to afford a new poly synth from moog.
Back when the Poly/Multi/Micro came out, I had the idea that they could have the NanoMoog. It would just have one key and one knob. You’d buy as many as you needed to play whatever song you wanted :^)
I think Dave Smith might sue if Moog did that. ![]()

“It’s a FUNdemental synthesizer!”
It’s a shame that the name “Omni” is already used as “Omni Moog” would have worked quite well.
Or Moog Prometheus.
Prometheus was a titan in greek mythology who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humans/mortals. As punishment by Zeus, he was chained to a rock and a great eagle ate his liver every day only to have it grow back to be eaten again the next day.

The Moog Phoenix, as long as we’re into mythology. “As it rises from the flames of the failed Memorymoog, the new Phoenix is the latest synthesizer to be released by Moog. Now, with this released, Voyager and Little Phatty owners who also own the all new Taurus III’s will be able to have a modern day Constellation for the low price of $8500 USD!” ![]()

Phoenix isn’t a bad name at all, however Waldorf used it in part with their re-releases of the Q series (Phoenix Edition).
