If it is two lfos, I wonder if they would be able to function as two audio oscillators (five oscillator voyager!) Tremolo/vca is another very good possibility
My point of view is:
-it’s not a control only processor (multiple lfo module), because a huge market for MFs is the guitar market, so the thing has to process audio, besides MP-201 is an LFO/Envelope generator, so they wouldn’t double a product they already have. Moreover, a control processor would be in CP-251 format.
-I was thinking maybe a VCA with envelope and LFO, and the second tap switch would be envelope trigger (but that is limited in use with audio processing, tremolo sure, but You have the ring mod which is great for tremolo). I’d personally would like a VCA, but i think that’ll happen as a CP-251 control box with envelopes and stuff and more CV then audio oriented, maybe Moog will come up with a sequencer some day, something like Doepfer Dark Time. But I believe that’s a thing of the future.
-Flanger/chorus with tap tempo is a good guess for me, but I wouldn’t really care, unless it’s something more then a classic flanger/chorus sound (more modulation posibilities, I don’t know, i’m not a chorus/flanger fan).
-A stereo delay is likely since the MF-104 is discontinued and not having a delay pedal as a product would be strange for Moog (but then, why put a LFO there, so I think it’s not a delay this time, maybe later).
-The final guess (regarding two footswithes) is that it’s a double effect. Maybe a double multimode filter (something like the Voyager has, but more complex), I’d like a high and bandpass very much.
SUMMARY ![]()
I hope they’ll suprise us with some kind of exotic thing like the MURF, a new concept in effects. A VCA/envelope generator/sequencer might happen at some point, but not yet. Delay/Flanger/Chorus combo might be likely, since they are all delay related effects. But my best guess is a double multimode filter. Let’s start a pool in this thread ![]()
What do You guys think?
All logically thought out PHC. The phrase ‘Cluster Flux’ doesn’t make any sense, OK MuRF doesn’t make any sense so apparently all new foogers from now on will be unexpected new effects and have incomprehensible names. This new fooger had better be good enough to require a t-shirt trademark!
Googling shows Cluster Flux is a weight training technique, a record label and quite unexplained usage. For foreigners (non-US people like me), what meanings does Cluster Flux have?
It’s wordplay on the term “cluster f@ck”, which is American slang for something going not right.
I talked to Rosser today.
He said he wasn’t sure what the engineers were up to, and that it’s common for them to apply for patents whether or not they intend to actually bring the product to the market.
Maybe he was being coy, I don’t know.
Post this on gearslutz and see if amos responds.
the patent was taken out March 23 2011 - 1 week before april 1.

I hope the rocker switch is green.
Moog isn’t going to answer to anyone about an unreleased product.
This was in the harmony central forum…supposedly an ad from the back of an “Ultimate guide to guitar and bass gear”.

Im sure the picture of the unit is real.
Makes perfect sense to modular users who have English as a primary language. It is a contraction of Mu ltiple R esonant F ilter.
A CF is of course, American slang for TARFU. (Between SNAFU AND FUBAR) It has multiple waveforms and they include a S/H form, so I’m not thinking VCA in this as a primary section. It would really be cool if it turned out to be a pitch tracking unit with octave divider/multiplier and some CV over the interval.
Yeah a full blown oscillator would be a great thing, especially if it is a dual tracking osc but thats probably not what that Fooger is. The 107 is nice but it wasn’t intended as a full range osc.
I like multimode filter with midi sync lfo or midi sync delay.
WANT (to know mooooooarrrr!)
Looks like NAMM is July 21-23. Maybe we will know something then..
You ever notice how this forum is usually the last place that gets these announcements? I think you can learn more about what Moog is up to through their facebook and twitter pages…they probably reach more people.
Some sort, any sort, of filter would be great…

Introducing the MF-108M Cluster Flux.
The latest addition to our Moogerfooger family of effects
What is it?? It’s an analog BBD based chorus flanger w/ Tap Tempo modulation for guitar players, and extensive MIDI control for keyboardists, recording, etc. This new Moogerfooger takes the Chorus/Flanger to a completely new level, significantly expands the musician’s sonic palette; and is CV as well as MIDI controllable.
This will be a limited availability product. The MF-108M Cluster Flux uses BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) chips that were specifically designed for the short delay times associated with chorus / flanger type effects. But like all BBD devices (e.g. the MF-104 Analog Delay) the availability of this chip is very limited. We are constantly looking for more supply but as with the MF-104, the supply will be limited by chip availability.
We expect to begin shipping in late summer. Image is attached. We will be running an inside back-page ad in Guitar Player in the month of August. A PDF of the ad copy is attached.
Features:
· The Cluster Flux provides warm, great sounding analog chorus / flanger / vibrato effects. In addition, it has a much wider (and wilder) range of modulated delay line effects than traditional chorus / flangers due to the extended range of front panel controls, the multi-waveform LFO, and the extensive CV and MIDI control.
· The LFO has six waveforms. Use sine or triangle for classic chorus flanger effects. Check out the Sample and Hold, Square, Sawtooth, and Ramp for radical new sounds. There are no analog chorus / flangers that have a sample and hold capability
· In Flange mode, you adjust the delay time from approx. .6 to 10 milliseconds. In Chorus mode, from approx. 5 to 50 milliseconds.
· The Feedback control is continuously bi-polar for both non-inverted and inverted feedback for flanging with even or odd harmonics.
· The MF-108M has both input drive and output level control so you can use it from instrument to line level.
· Parameters are MIDI controllable and the MF-108M will ship with an application editor for managing the array of possibilities. Just one example of the many applications: Control the delay time with MIDI notes for “tuned” flanger comb-filter effects.
· There’s a Feedback Insert jack on the back for external processing of just the wet signal just after the BBD’s.
· The design includes high voltage MN3007 BBD’s for their superior headroom and excellent signal to noise ratio.
Our formal introduction will be on June 17th Our press release will come at that time. Feel free to contact your good customers for pre-orders. Date for your website is June 17th.
DIBS.
Where do I send the money?
Sorry. ‘Limited supply’ and I’ve Pre-ordered the lot! ![]()
Is there an LFO out?
How the flux did you get this information before anyone else?
Well, not quite
. Looks like a very log-scaled rate control, but I bet that’s where the clock division comes from when MIDI sync’d (a la M.MuRF)
Man another limited edition product. ![]()
They are wanting me to cash in my life insurance policies and borrow against my 401K i just know that is their real goal.
Chorus Flange…BBD…hmmmmm. Sounds like another instant classic.
I shoudl be getting word about the price soon.
