making it work w/ a patchbay
Hi, The key seems to be using a dummy plug with a resistor soldered between the Tip & Ring. It certainly helped in my setup. Rather than repeating it here, I'd like to suggest that you check out my recent post on the "solution for patchbay problems with the 104 and Murf" thread. Thanks...

this worked for me
I spent several hours this weekend experimenting with my Fooger array. As part of this, I tried various "dummy plug configurations": jumper between tip & sleeve on a TRS plug jumper between tip & sleeve on a TS plug jumper between ring & sleeve on a TRS plug jumper between tip ...

Awww, where did the pic go? Use a balanced patchbay and balanced cables and you won't have problems. Any CV input on the moogerfoogers can support an expression pedal. Using an unbalanced cable won't break anything and the CV jacks are not disabled, but at that point the remaining CV inputs (on any...

Hey there- I have run alll of my mfs to a patchbay and yes there are a couple of jacks that act weird on the Murf and the delay. (Also the carrier in on the ringmod) THere used to be a long thread about it on the forum but it may be long gone. I'll try to send you some specific info when I get some...

Re: So cool!
Shakti, Several of us have looked into this with varying degress of success. What you are suggesting definitely makes sense. As far as I can tell, the audio signals on the MF's use unbalanced jacks while the CV signals use balanced jacks. You should reflect this in the patch bays you choose; althoug...

Next Mooger
I voted for the distortion pedal, because it's the closest thing to what I'd like. A combination distortion / octave pedal would be hip. If you added some parametric eq ability, it would be even better. The pedal should be able to output the following: 1) 1 8va up 2) 1 8va down 3) the input 4) the a...

Re: Next Moog... product
I'm pretty late to the party with these comments, but I would like to add my 2 cents anyway: 2) There's a bit missing that has been mentioned in this thread, namely some harmonic-adding stuff at the start of the signal chain. Octavers (1 up & 2 down) + some nice analog distortion could fill thi...

Next Moog... product
I'm pretty late to the party with these comments, but I would like to add my 2 cents anyway: 1) I think that the current lineup of MF's are really quite comprehensive. If you read the last bit of that John Frusciante interview, it seems that he's able to do quite a lot with the gear he's got. 2) The...

Thanks!
Oddmusic:
Thanks so much for the links. Even though I am sure that other MF users are having simlar issues, I had nearly despaired of a response. I will check out these resources.
Best Regards,

got the spreadsheet
I received the spreadsheet, and thanks for this most recent write-up. It is looking pretty consistent with what I'm seeing experimentally, but it's very helpful to have a trail blazed.
Thanks, again!

Guitar synth -> MIDI-to-CV -> Ring mod carrier
Brian, I think the answer is "you'll have to experiement". I posted a similar question a few months back and eventually decided my best bet was to build a PAiA MIDI-to-CV kit. This is my first complicated electronics project and while it is fun, I have *no* idea if it'll actually function ...

another idea
Maybe this is what you meant when you referred to a high hat, but I wonder what would happen if you miked a drummer tapping on a hand drum and sent that into the step input while you jammed with him/her. Seems like that would do a more musical synch. Of course before doing that I'd want to look at t...
