Re: Slim Phatty - advice for a buyer

Is there a calibration I should do if the tuning is not right?

It doesn't make sense for you to do the calibration yourself: it takes too much time.

Accurate calibration takes many hours, so I don't think you will be able to perform it at the sellers' home while discussing the sale details ...

Re: Question about MIDI

MIDI keyboard midi-out --->>> Long MIDI cable --->>> midi-in Little Phatty.

How "Long" is it? How big is the stage?

Don't go over 5 meters. Not with a single cable anyway.

If you need to cover more than 5 meters, use several separate cables and insert some kind of power-supplying box (any dumb ...

Re: Post your latest purchase!!

So, Moog was integrating phone applications, personal productivity tools and synthesizers

FORTY years before the iPad was even conceived?

Forget the Animoog: with that kind of experience behind them, I should be able to run a polyphonic modular on my blackberry by now

Re: MiniMoog-V Original for free - celebrating end agreement

It sounds very simple:

Moog has withdrawn its endorsement to Arturia

all existing copies of any Arturia product containing the "moog" brand will not suitable for sale

they become worthless

so Arturia decides she will give them away

and later she will sell a new upgraded version, without any ...

Re: modular software

Nord Modular software, in a "trial" version, is available for free and is the best didactic/research tool I have ever seen. Its only limitation by refence to the full nord modular software is that it is monophonic.

Enrico Cosimi wrote his last book about synthesis (1000 pages ...) using just this ...

Re: Big problem!!

If it was an older synthesizer, I'd venture to say "battery".

Try reinstalling the OS, but check if the instrument got some heavy dose of cold.

Re: 2 Slim Phattys or Voyager?

What will I be missing if I decide to go for the Phattys over the Voyager?

one word: modulation

another word: voyager's filter is way more flexible.

But modulation is the main difference I noticed when first using the phatty.

The 3 osc / 4 osc arithmetics is flawed. Too long to explain here ...

Re: Minitaur Warmup time

Just putting my nose in this thread.

I have been using the slim phatty for just two days now,

and even if It's WAY more stable than the dopefer modular I previously used [live, it was an emersonesque nightmare]

I am a bit worried: I bought the phatty for live use,

and it took an hour to go from ...

Re: Any Minimoog owners that also really like the Little Pha

I can hear a difference when directly controlling the filter and via MIDI.

I believe that .

[btw: +1 re "fanboyism". Peace! Everybody here is passionate and competent, and a moog user . I don't see any major synth designer here, who is entitled to superiority].

Not in the strict technical ...

phatty control from masterkeyboard (kurzweil)

Hi.

I will control my new friend, Slim Phatty, from a kurzweil pc3 keyboard AND control surface (using all sliders, buttons, pedals etc. Basically; il will use pedals and aftertouch for cc1 and filter or sinc sweep, sliders for filter, EGs, switch and buttons for glide, sinc, and would like to try ...

Re: Any Minimoog owners that also really like the Little Pha

Anybody using a kurzweil pc3 as a "controlling surface" for the slim phatty?

I will have to do that in the next few days, and it would be nice to get some advice from somebidy who already experienced glitches and devised shortcuts.

I have a Moog pocket protector, and WEAR IT IN PUBLIC! I'm not a nerd, I'm a geek!

Uber-geek! Beyond Geek and Geekier! Also Spracht Bill Gates!

yeah, I received the phatty yesterday, I opened the box (most of all, I was anxious for the rack ears: lack of them would have seriously messed ...

Re: Mystery Note in Operation Manual

Oh, hochrock!

What a coincidence!

You happened to find the Micromoog which I had left unattended at a bus stop three months ago in French Road in Buffalo while vacationing in the USA.

EJE Research is a pizzeria I was planning to visit.

And that's not Bob Moog's phone number, it's mine ...

Re: Question for Moog owners.

May I post a counter-trend idea?

It is a totally biased and personal point of view, but it could maybe help our friend.

I was an early model d adopter (sold it years ago), then I bought and kept for some months a voyager, but I later sold it,

and now I bought a slim phatty.

I'd rather use that ...
