Re: Help: Minimoog model D - no sound

Hello again,

I opened it up recently and cleaned as many of the circuits as I could. Unfortunately there is still no sound. When I opened it up it looked quite dirty and dusty inside. I am just wondering, could it be a problem with the wires under the keyboard? or is it possible I did not clean it ...

Re: Help: Minimoog model D - no sound

To my dismay I turned it on this morning and there is again no sound.

When I've got the time and the courage I will follow your advice and open it up to clean the edge-contacts. Wish me luck!

I'm not sure about the serial number, it may have been added at a later date. The metal casing has also ...

Re: Help: Minimoog model D - no sound

Thanks a lot thealien666

This is weird, but I turned it on just now and it actually works fine (seemingly). Though I don't doubt that this same problem could arise in the future so I will keep your advice in mind. Yes it is a humid and hot climate and I don't turn it on every single day (which I've ...

Help: Minimoog model D - no sound

Hello to all

I have a model D (serial T2336E) which is not producing any audio. I turned it on last week (the first time in a little while, stupidly enough) and it seemed alright. Then a day later I started it up again and there was nothing. The A-440 works as usual when switched on. I usually ...

Re: Model-D help please: cv/gate IN problem

The thing is the model-D was in really poor condition when I got it and I only recently got it serviced and partly restored by the only tech that still works on them in this country...

If it's not too personal, can I ask what country are you from ?

Also, if you disconnect everything from the ...

Re: Model-D help please: cv/gate IN problem

Firstly I just wanted to say a big thanks for all the feedback, it has been a great insight.

Alien666, I did now send the CV directly from the mc202 to model-D and yes it works better, but still noticably out of tune when I run a sequence across several octaves (meaning the lowest note of the ...

Re: Model-D help please: cv/gate IN problem

Yes, the ms-02 interface converts the hz/volt signal to volt/oct. So from the mc202 sequencer a signal goes through the ms-02 interface where it is converted and then to the model-D and it usually works fine and isn't a problem. Now overnight it will not control the pitch of the model-D, it's all ...

Model-D help please: cv/gate IN problem

I usually control the Minimoog model-D via S-trig IN and Osc IN from an mc202 sequencer via the korg ms-02 interface. It can take a bit of fiddling around sometimes as I'm not very 'technically-minded' but usually I can get the model-D in tune with the mc202 sequencer and once I get the right ...

Re: HELP: Minimoog Model D or Minimoog Voyager?

I had a voyager OS then later got a model D. They both have advantages over the other but and it probably depends on the needs/desire of the user. Firstly to the voyager's credit, I would say it has more advanced modulation capabilities and to my ears a more powerful filter. However the extended ...

Re: problems with envelope ext/on

Yes the envelope sustain is set to it's max level. The ext audio is clearly audible when holding a key down in keyboard mode. It seems like it's defaulting to accept cv/gate IN even though nothing is plugged in.

Re osc3, it is turned on and clearly audible, it's just that the frequency knob has no ...

Re: Voyager vs ms20?

The voyager has a more user-friendly interface. It's easier to understand the signal path whereas the ms20 is very odd in design, it's patch bay is pretty hard to use also.

The overall sound of the ms20 is harder and more abrasive, good for bassy, metallic sounds. It has a certain gritty texture ...

problems with envelope ext/on

Hi all, I was hoping to get some advise on a few issues I'm having with the voyager old school. I've had the unit for a few months now but can't remember whether or not this was a problem when I got it.

I want to process external audio without having to hold the key down however setting the evelope ...
