Emerson and the Mini

Actually the Minimoog is credited in Trilogy along with the Modular and I believe he even plays the solo to "From The Beginning" on it. He also used a Moog prototype called the Lyra which was a beefed up Minimoog with a pressure-sensitive keyboard (you can read about it here: http://www.keithemerson ...

Another Moog Cookbook track

Thanks, I'll have to track down that Air single. Come to think of it they also did a cover of "Big Me" by the Foo Fighters. It's on a Foo Fighters single, though I'm not sure which one. You can actually hear it being played as elevator music at the beginning of one of their videos (I forget which ...

The Moog Cookbook...highly recommended!

Not only are their two albums, The Moog Cookbook and Plays the Classic Rock Hits , treasure troves of analog sounds - they are freaking hilarious. I think these are some of the best parody albums of all time - parodying both the "Moog album" craze of the late 60's through early 70's and the grunge ...

I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying here.

Here's what I did:
I cracked open the case, removed the Oscillator board and went through and tightened each individual contact in the connector. I couldn't figure out how to disassemble the connector like you suggested, but I was able to take a ...

Oscilaltor Bleed Through

I have the same oscillator bleed through problem that Rick Reed described and was excited to see MC's solution to it. I tried it out, however, and I'm still having the same problem. The connectors should definitely be tight enough to be making a good connection at this point.

Any other ideas ...

"Hidden" low pass filter?

The "hidden" low pass filter within the onboard S&H circuit has been useful too, if not by accident.
FIGS, what is this "hidden" low pass filter that you speak of residing in the CP-251's sample and hold? I'm very intrigued.

The CP-251 is definitely money well spent for anyone who owns a Model D ...

Thanks!

Thanks so much everyone for all the great tips. The CAIG Survival Kit looks like a great idea for my purposes, so I'll probably go with that. I've got other equipment that needs maintenance (including a chockful-o-pots Oberheim Four Voice) so it will definitely go to good use. Thanks again to all ...

Contact cleaner for MInimoog Model D

Hello everyone. Glad to be a new member of this excellent forum.

I've got a Model D whose key contacts are in dire need of cleaning. I know that Moog originally recommended Cramolin contact cleaner for the purpose but this stuff is manufactured in Europe and doesn't seem to be available here in the ...
