Sub 37 with Euro

I am primarily a guitar player who also enjoys playing the keys. Currently have a Sub 37, Kawai ES8 and DSI OB-6 ordered. I am intrigued by the Euro concept and some of the music I hear through modules such as Mutable Instruments - Braids, Make Noise - DPO, Tiptop LP - VCF, etc. While there are some ...

Re: Naysayers be damned...I love the Prophet 6

My issue with DSI stuff is not the sound. It's the build quality. I played a prophet 6 and a Pro2 last week. The knobs on both felt cheap. Everything about it felt a bit cheap. It's obvious that they cut corners on their devices to meet a certain price point, but how much money is that really ...

Re: Naysayers be damned...I love the Prophet 6

OB-6 has impressed me enough to order one. DSI just started to ship. Here are samples from one of the sound designers, Kurt Kurasaki (aka Peff)

Guitar and MuRF chemistry

Well, after spending a week with the MuRF it now has a permanent place on my board. However, I must say that across my 4 electric guitars (Anderson Hollow T, Grosh Classic, PRS Archtop II and Gibson '58 LP) the Anderson and the Grosh sound the best through the MuRF.

Net, at least for my taste, the ...

Jeff:

Thanks. Yes, Ed does great work. I have his Echoczar and have been saving up for an Angel Baby and is new VFM pedal.

I may go for his Ernie Ball mod if I am not able to find someone who has an extra 100k linear pot that I can install in a EB volume pedal I already own.

The folks over at ...

Well, thanks to Amos in technical support (and you folks) I am on my way to sonic heaven.

I am using the step adapter and sending click tracks from my Machinedrum to create some very cool sequence progressions. This opens up a nice spectrum of possibilities way beyond just using the Rate knob to ...

Anybody try one of these for their step adapter. They cost ~ $3?

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103725

Seems more reasonable then spending ~$30 for the Moog step adapter which looks like to me to be just a 1/4" male stereo plug with a 1/4" female "accepting" end.

Yes, the ...

Lengai:

Thanks for the input.

Yes, leaning towards your reco given that I have a Machinedrum that I hope to use to modify the tempo via sending audio pulses. Not sure how well it will work, but I will find out on Friday when it arrives.

The notion of using the Tap Tempo Pedal and the male/female ...

so many choices...

Well, I am about to go in for the MuRF 105.

As you know, there a many accessories, e.g.: the Expression Pedal, the Tap Tempo Pedal, the Female/Male Step Adaptor. The MuRF by itself is expensive and these components combined add another ~$100

Based on those who have had some time with their MuRF ...

Moog tech support replied (very quickly, I might add) as follows:

No you do not need the step adaptor; try using a 1/4" cable directly into
the tempo input. The best audio to send would be a square wave pulse...
something that goes from silent to "all the way on" as rapidly as possible,
then back ...
