Any suggestions for better expression pedals?

I have the 101, 102, 103 and 105 MFs. I also have some of the expression pedals. For a company that makes excellent filter pedals, the expression pedals bite. Does anyone know of a decent expression pedal that is reasonably priced? Ideally, I would like to have 5-6 of them for controlling different things.

PS: Bob and the bunch - Kudos for such great work on the Voyager and the Moogerfooger line. Hiss on the expression pedals. They are noisy and have a cheap feel to them - totally unlike the rest of the Moog product line.

I've got the Roland EV-5. I like it just fine - I've got a Moogerfooger EP1 and never use it. The Roland is a little light and might seem a bit flimsy, but overall I think it's a good pedal.

i'm looking for an expression pedal too, not like the mooger EP-1 or the roland one (got both of them).
i need it to be heavy and to be much more hard to move with my foot.
i'm sure there is a lot of good vintage expression pedals around but i need a lead... names or something...
not vintage will be o.k. too if they do the trick!
i'm still searching (like a blind man) on the net, if i find something good i'll post it here.

i found an old ensoniq c/v pedal that works great. it's identical in looks to moog's but is a bit heavier duty. just do an ebay search for c/v, cv pedal, expression pedal etc...

Another option is to simply make an expression pedal yourself out of an old wah pedal or something.

Here's one resource if you want to know how. I haven't read it thoroughly and tried it; I'm sure there are other resources if you look.

thank you very much for the link but i needed an exp. pedal immediately so i gave up and went to the store to buy a EV-5 only to find a much bigger and made from metal exp. pedal that is also very liniar and i have to say that it serves me well!!!

you also can connect it to two MF if you don't have a 251...

I posted a topic about this during the summer about the fv 500L. they just announced it at namm this summer and it probably hasn't come out yet since no one replied to my topic. kinda curious about this too.

The Yamaha EV-7 expression pedal is metal and rubber, built like a tank, and cheaper than the Roland EV-5.

Could someone post the specs for the Moogerfooger exp. pedal? Value and type of pot, etc. The value and taper of pots in different mfg. exp. pedals varies, and not all are compatible with different effects.

Dunlop makes a very sturdy exp. pedal for their Univibe - heavy cast aluminum. A bit overpriced, like all their stuff.

Foxrox Electronics has a lighter (plastic) pedal that supposedly is quite sturdy and has a pot taper adjustment (cool!). I'm confident Dave Fox would not sell a crappy exp. pedal for his crazy TZF Flanger - only $50.

I don't own any Moogerfoogers - yet - but expect to after resolving a few issues, like this expression pedal bit, and deciding which MFs to start with.

i have both the ev5 and the ev7 and the ev7 is way better. sits better on the floor and has very long sweep range

thought i'd post my alternative. i just used a passive volume pedal (one of the ernie ball jr's) along with a stereo y cable thing. it has one trs/stereo tip and splits into 2 ts/mono tips. trs goes into the cv jack, plug one ts into the input and the other into the output of the pedal and it works fine. (you might have to switch which mono tip goes into the input/output the the volume pedal to get the full range though)

works well, the full range of the pedal corresponds with the full range of the knob. the cable is cheap and passive vp's are pretty easy to come by

i don't know if i'd recommend the ernie ball though b/c it has two tapering switches so the pedal is either really sensitive at the beginning or end. works really well for volume stuff, but not as well for an expression pedal (not that it's bad though...)
