I want it for that too, but I'd like to use it as an extension of the LP. So I'd like to be able to trigger the envelopes with note on messages from the LP keyboard. Do you know if this possible somehow?

I think this could be done with some software that would convert any note input into C4 or ...

that would be great, but to be honest I'd be already happy with a midi clocked LFO with restart cycle on note on.

Greg,

about the specific note triggering the envelopes. The way I was planning to set it up (for basic synth sounds) would be to trigger the sherman with the LP's midi out. But this would be assuming that any note would trigger the envelopes.

This way the sherman would retrigger every time I'd ...

thanks for your opinion. i'm really set in getting one. just waiting to see fi i can find a used one in good condition.

I have one question about the CV outputs though. can you choose between midi and the env follower to be the trigger for the envelopes?

external filter for LP (sherman)

is anyone using an external filter with the LP?

I'm thinking in getting an analog filter to give me BP and HP sounds. I'm particularly looking at the sherman mkII.

does anyone has this combo? Does the moog osc blend well with the sherman?

midi clocked LFO
Osc2 fine tune (press osc2 freq button twice toggles between coarse and fine tune)
when osc2 is selected as mod source make "pitch" destination only osc1
Bipolar Mod amount like env mod

thanks for all the inputs guys!

I'm still reading and reading and reading more about the subject. I've never thought of getting a modular before so this is all new to me, but I'm really looking forward to expand the voyager's possibilities.

One question regarding the .com modules. Are they fully ...

expanding the voyager with a modular system

Is anyone using the voyager with a modular system?

I'm considering taking the jump and start building a modular system around the voyager. From the ones I've been researching the modcan B series seem to be the ones that seem more compatible out of the box with moog gear. However they are a bit ...

thanks for all the inputs!

I just found a good deal on a Q rack and went for it. I was undecided between the virus and the Q, but decided to go with the waldorf. Everybody says great things about them so, and teh demos sound good. Not sure how it'll fit with the saturated tone of the voyager but I ...

thanks!

I'm considering a waldorf Q actually, specially because of it's vast arquitecture and double filters. i like flexibility and modulatioon options in a synth. My fear is that it may sound too digital and won't blend well with the voyager. My other possibility is an access virus. Any thoughts ...

what VA blends better with the voyager sound?

I'm considering a VA for going together with the voyager. Now, I've noticed that the moog has a very distinct sound so I'm looking something that will blend well with it without many post processing tweaks.

Is there any that you find that particularly blends well with the voyager?

It'll mainly be ...

another vote for Live! great program and as completely changed the way I make music. Before I spent eons recording midi and clicking the mouse.

Now I'm catching real time performances on my synths. I'm actually playing continuously. The revolution is that you can then manipulate audio as you do ...

yes, I meant audio rate modulation. One of the immediate ideas would be to use the headphone output and feed it into the mod bus. You could FM the whole 3 oscillators with the whole sound output or you could use it to FM osc2 for example.

just to experiment in the most geeky way :)

So I ...

any way to convert audio into FM suitable CV signal?

this probably makes no sense at all as I don't understanding anything of electronics, but is there a way to use external audio to FM the voyager's filter using it's CV input?

Same way for pedal inputs etc....

There are far cheaper ways than using a Future Retro or a VX-351. One possibility:
