Seconded. I use Opera too, and I can't see the product menus on the main page.

I can use the forums, but I can't buy anything. How's that for an incentive Moog?

It's called speculation. It's fun. Even the un-informed guesswork bits. 'Wait and see' is fine, but would you rather in the meantime everyone refrained from discussing the thing at all? That would be boring.

Re: Words are important!

When all is said and done, and you have seen and heard the beauty of this
synth, then go ahead if you like and say that you will boycott Moog forever
because of a silly name.
Um... don't you think that's a little hyperbolic? Like perhaps a little defensively hyperbolic? No one is going to stop ...

Yeah, is that going to be the actual name? Have they confirmed it anywhere?

Quoting Amos on AH:

'Have a sense of humour!
If the most beautiful girl you had ever seen in your life asked you out, and
she happened to have a very silly name, would you treat her badly just
because of that?

Anyway ...

But Amos is adamant that *cringe* Little Phatty is the real name, so further speculation seems redundant...?

It's been pointed out that LP is a slang term for a spliff. Not round here it isn't. It just refers to fat kids.

In the unlikely event that it is the real production name, I hope it's on a little Minimoog-style plaque so you can chisel the damn thing off...

There'll be money to be made in replacement 'Orbiter' plaques :)

( I know I know, we don't know what it's really called yet  )

Why buy a budget moog if you already own a Voyager?

A better question would be 'Why buy a budget moog if you don't already own a Voyager?'

The most popular answer would be price...

It won't have unique features. It's closer in spec to the original Mini, without the Voyager's bells and whistles.

As a kid I used to think it was a Roland GR700 guitar synth - I can't remeber why I reached that conclusion.

I could be wrong but I think the modern equivalents are those translucent plastic pcb standoffs available from component suppliers. That's a bit vague I know - maybe KL or someone can suggest a supplier and/or the required type and size. I guess you need to look for a double ended spacer with a ...

Own a Mini s/n 7459. Have owned two Rogues, lost one to theft, one to selling (for £50!) cos I figured I didn't need it. Idiot.

Re: yamaha cs-15

the 15 seems really inexpensive for what they say it can do, and i know that yamahas are really reliable.

That's a pretty fair assessment. But you already know what it sounds like - it's sounds like a CS5, except more so. It has two oscs rather than one (as does the CS10), but the big feature is ...

If you don't get a taker for those slider caps, I could use 'em if in very good condition.

Oi! I asked first! :) (kidding!)

I take it this is the panel on Ebay, in which case it's for a 203 not a 280. Also appears not to have slider caps, or am I wrong? Guess they'd be the wrong colour for mine ...

Polymoog parts wanted

Hello all

I hope this isn't inappropriate here...

I am seeking the following parts to help finish off a Polymoog
Keyboard 280a restoration.

- Pitch controller ribbon. Mine has been bent or folded at some point
(WTF?!) and no longer responds properly.

- Grey slider caps with blue metallic inserts ...
