Moog Rogue wicked lead synth!

Post by CZ Rider » Mon Apr 19, 2010 12:43 am

So the Rogue may be one of the least expensive Moogs, with it's plastic sides, 2 1/2 oct keyboard, and limited envelope. But this synthesizer can really scream like no other. Was just jammin' with my new toy, the Moog 1125 Sample and Hold controlling a Minimoog and Moog Modular, while playing a lead over top with the Rogue. Just messin' around improvising, non-rehearsed, no MIDI, no pre-sets, no direction, but it is an all Moog clip.

That Rogue can really belt out a lead! :D

Wow, where did you find the 1125? Very cool, and rare. I had one many years ago. Ah, 35 years ago! I used it with my Minimoog. The Mini has the special sockets on the back panel to power the 1125. Does the Rogue have those same sockets or did you have to modify it? Hey, your Rogue sounds great. I heard a few a seconds where you kicked in the 1125. Cool.

Sorry I misread your post. I see the 1125 is controlling a Mini and a Modular, but about 1 minute into the audio clip I hear what sounds like Sample and Hold for a few seconds coming from the Rogue. What am I hearing?

That 1125 really does an interesting articulatio of the synth....very much reminds me of a strummed guitar the way you have ben programming it on the last two samples you have posted with it.

I love the tones you get man, its what makes we want the REAL Old School Moogs so much...thats the undeniable Moog sound.

... saw one for $750 recently. Or you can build your own and put it in a minty-tin: http://machines.hyperreal.org/manufactu ... index.html

great impro. The Moogs obviously send out magic waves to force the players to play and to play. Speaking Moog and the world would be a better place.
Thank you for sending this piece of common language.
