MF-103 unwanted distortion

Post by Dannymon » Fri Sep 17, 2004 4:05 pm

Hello guys, I bought my 103 Phaser not to long ago and I use it with both my guitar rig and my Keyboard/sampler rig. The pedal performs superbly with my guitar, but whenever I use it with my keyboard(KorgKarma) or my Sampler(mpc1000) I get this nasty clipping/distortion in the sound, even with the drive knob all the way down. In order to avoid this, I always find my self lowering the volume of samples or keyboard patches and sometimes this doesn't fix it either.

Now, Is this a normal behavior of the pedal (low headroom) or is my pedal F***ed up?

Thanks for any answers!

You might have a nasty ground loop. Is your audio chain keyboard->mf103->mixer->amp? Try a two prong adapter on the three prong plug of your Karma; if that works then you have a ground loop which is manifesting itself in the mf103. The fault is not any of your gear, it's the way you have gear plugged into the wall outlets.

Thanks for your answer MC, i'll try this out and let you know if it worked. The funny thing is that my MF-102 works perfectly.

Peace!
