etherwave theremin made by myself

Post by AK » Mon Nov 30, 2009 9:32 am

Hi,
I have build moog etherwave theremin myself using schematics from etherwave manual. I can’t find out all components, that why use what can find. (The main problem is inductance coils). It’s sounds grate, but when I compare it with original one, I noticed that my theremin has low sensitivity of pitch antenna. And it is very hard to play separate note, I can separate only few notes, say, from 1 oct. range.
I wonder maybe there are someone else who also tries to build this theremin himself, or someone who can say which components are critical, and what I should do to increase pitch antenna sensitivity and intervals betveen notes?

The theremin works on the property of oscillation, that is a signal being looped over and over again. I'm thinking your problem might come from the oscillators. They need to be able to be tuned or modified in some way in order to achieve the right performance.
