With my purchase of the MP 201 multi-pedal, I have been thinking about hwo Moog could move in a new direction. At the moment, the only company that I know of making a DC coupled interface is MOTU who also makes "Volta" which allows computers to create CV outputs using a standard audio interface.
Think of this...
Take an MP 201 but now make it into an interface 8 ins, 8 outs which would be:
1. Gates
2. CVs
3. Audio
You could even create 3 mixers
1. Logic mixer for the gates
2. CV mixer (additive and mulitiplicative)
3. Audio Mixer
Then create a mixer for the audio oriented towards foogers so that a single audio in could be slit to create parallel fooger chains which could then be remixed or have a fully flexible serial signal routing.
I am just bouncing this kind of thinking around and not suggesting anything specific. I also realize that this would be expensive but I would love to have something like this for my rig.
Moog Interface
I really dig this idea, however I think it's too close to modular for them to really capitalize on it; There's a reason why the MP-201 has a gas pedal, and even then it's probably not their biggest seller by any stretch; I think they'd have a hard time justifying the R&D/production costs for it.
