Old Shool Questions

Post by ColorForm2113 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 3:59 am

well i guess these apply to all voyagers...
can audio be amplified when going into the external input via the control knob the pannel? or does the external input knob just attenuate the volume?

is it possible to make the filter just a hi pass filter when switched onto lowpass/hipass mode with the spacing knob or by other means?

thanks these were just a couple questions i had when designing patches in my head for gear i dont have...

Thanks. Why is this synth so perfect lol. I was hoping that there would be something it doesn't do that I would want it to so it could calm my gear lust

CF,
First of all, its not digital. Second of all Its not polyphonic. Frankly its severely lacking.

Well ColorForm, all I can say is: don't buy it. The Voyager has a couple of serious shortcomings which are not described on the moog website nor in the handbook but make the machine practically worthless. Apart from being extremely monophonic and heavy I found that almost every Voyager is ... well ... magnetic. For me, this causes serious problems in my daily routines because my homestudio is located on my way from the bedroom to the bathroom. Every morning when I get up and go to the bathroom to take a shower something (guess who) pulls me into the studio and doesn't let me out again. I have been many times late at work because of this and it seems that moog music is unable to fix the problem. (How long is it on the market now?) So my recommendation is: Don't buy the Voyager. It only steals your time and money because you will continuously buy more Moog gear adding more magnetism problems to your studio.

Hahahaha well you guys have convinced me! I can't believe I was lusting over an overpriced paper weight
I have noticed the moog magnetism, or moognetism if you will. I often get sucked in to my micro and foogers for hours. I can't imagine the moognetic strength of the voyager
