With an open gate switching through presets can produce some really neat sounds. I've been playing around just using the knob but a sequencer is gonna be nicer. When switching to a new preset with the gate open it goes directly to the sustain part of the envelopes. With the correct setup of differnt presets you can set up artificial mutli stage envelopes, neat digi step effects, and some brutal basses.

i'm totally gonna try playing with this, sounds like a blast!

Randomly stumbled upon another one of these over the weekend. Crazy rubbery bouncing sound, switching from one preset to another while holding down the key. It sounded different with just an open gate compared to hitting a key and then switch the preset with the key held down, probably velocity->filter with the keystroke. The sound after the switch was made is way different than just playing one after another. I have not tried it via midi CC, I hope it is still as smooth as using the value knob. That would make it easier to try different combinations and could produce some exotic effects from a sequencer.

This would be nice on the Voyager, except that when you change the presets you have to hit the switch again.

sorry but what do you mean by gate open?

Plug a cable connected to nothing or a jack without a cable into the gate in jack. The OSC will drone. You can press a key to change the pitch and make sure the sustain in the amp section is up.
