MP-201 LCD Problem

Post by T7 » Sun Aug 09, 2009 1:34 pm

The LCD on my new MP-201 looks like it was put in upside down. The viewing angle on it is terrible when looking at it from the front. The blank spaces between characters are full of what I can only describe as dark clouding. When I view it upside down it looks perfect. I had the same problem on my first LP II. :(

Anyone know how hard it would be to replace the LCD? I really don't want to send it away.

I don't have one, but here is a guess from many other LCD devices I use.
Is there a CONTRAST adjustment? That will probably do it for you. Sometimes it is called ANGLE. (Cause it adjusts the viewing angle)

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, no. The MP-201 doesn't include a contrast adjustment. The Little Phatty doesn't have one either. Moog Music should have implemented one considering the widely varying tolerances of these cheap displays.
