cp-251 w/ EHX memory boy

Post by MarbledMoog » Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:35 am

I know the Memory boy is just being unveiled this weekend but I'm extremely intrigued by the EXP input on it. Does anyone have any experience with EHX pedals and if the pedal that have exp. control adhere to the roland/moog standard? I plan to get an echoplex but this is one solid state delay that has me seriously interested. I can just imagine the tripped out sounds I could get with sample and hold controlling the delay time, or the wide tri-wave LFO.

Yes the EHX pedals I have used do adhere to the MOOG standard. It's always safest to try using an attenuator to ensure you don't exceed the limit though.

Delay time + CV control = tons of fun!
Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

Especially with a square wave. If you attenuate it correctly, you can get the repeats to jump up and down an octave.

Another +1 on EHX exp inputs being scaled well for Moogage- I use it with my HOG, and used it with the Polyphase while I had it.

excellent! I look forward to the release of the Memory Boy and Moogifying it all I can. The projected price on these are outrageously low.

I'm late, but I' m also interested in those samples!

I'v had a HOG too, a MF101 (had a 102 and miss it) and I would like to afford a CP251... I'm can try it so I try to understand how it works and what I could do

the other day after band practice I went over to guitar center, and they had a memory boy (no memory boy deluxe unfortunately). Since I had my pedal board in my car I brought in the mf-102 and tried it out. I had the mf-101, cp-251 and ep-2 with me but didn't want to bring a bunch of crap in (probably should have brought the cp-251 in...), and the sine LFO sounded cool but not extremely impressive. Didn't mess with square much, but I'm more interested in trying the deluxe one, probably will pick one up just for the hell of it, but not the small memory boy.
