Pot Sensitivity

Post by jcsveth » Tue Jul 14, 2009 3:39 pm

Hello - I have just bought a second hand LP Stage - played with it for a while with an old OS and then upgraded - WOW - a whole new level!!

My issue is that the pots seem to be too sensitive. Just playing on the keyboard will change the values. If they are all turned off (ccw), then everything is okay. This becomes a real hassle when trying to audition the original sound when editing a sound as any pot movement reverts back to the edited sound from the original. This will happen almost immediately when switching to audition the original patch.

Is there a way to calibrate these - do they need to be cleaned - or did I just buy a lemon (everything else is like new on the unit)?

Regards, jcsveth

hi, i have experienced this sometimes, and i've found out that this happpens due to ground issues. do you have your phatty connected to a grounded outlet? in my case the amp was not grounded and that was causing the pot levels to change... hope this helps

Congrats on your buy, the LP is a great synth :)

Thank you patobrujo!!! That is exactly what it was - a swap of cables and all is well. Truly enjoying this synth.
