Idea for MF-106 CV delay/looper.

Post by sir_dss » Wed Jul 07, 2004 3:10 pm

Ok...

There has been the rumour for so long now about a new MoogerFooger delay with some sort of looping function. This is an idea never found in anything other than software.

I would love it if you could create some sort of loop like say a pattern of a

C# A G F# A G C# etc...

This would go into the looper part, looping over & over again.

Sending a Sample & Hold signal into the pedal would break the orignal loop into different segments like.

Original loop no CV:

C# A G F# A G C#

With a Sample & Hold CV modifying the orignal loop

C# A G F# A G C#(Original loop)
<+>
-- ___
__-- -- --____-- (S&H CV)

<=>

A F# G C# A C# G

Get it?

And what if you used a CV sequencer? You could resequence the order of your loop on the spot. No messy laptops!

How about recording a someone speaking. With a S+H you could get this crazy alien lanuage. With a Sequencer mixup their words and sentances!

a moog looper would be the ultimate, but it would have to be an extention on the idea of analog delay, combined with an old cv sequencer like the pre midi moog gear.

I talked to a man that works at a guitar store that sell moogerfooger and such and he claims the Delay they are working on is a digital and is going to offer lots of delay time.
