MF-101 Buzz?

Post by xgsjx » Fri Feb 20, 2009 6:21 am

My MF-101 buzzes quite a bit & I've tried the copper shielding as mentioned elsewhere in this forum & it still buzzes.
I have discovered that if I move the cable that runs from the MF-101 to the amp the buzz changes in volume & if I hold the cable with both hands it goes away. I have tried 4 different cables (all of different manufacture) & all have the same result.
Does anybody have any advice on how to go about reducing the buzz or curing it?
I was wondering if it could be the output jack on the MF-101 that's got a bad solder.

It sounds more like interference being picked up by the cable. There might not be anything wrong with your MF-101. Have you experimented with plugging into a different outlet, or even trying your whole setup in a different room in the house to see if the problem persists? Do you know if your electrical outlets are grounded properly?

I had bad static interference in my MuRF which I thought was intrinsic.
It was fine after I moved the unit elsewhere.
