Skippy/Glitchy PE Voyager Wheels

Post by eMop » Sun Apr 27, 2008 10:01 pm

I've noticed, recently that both the pitch wheel and the mod wheel have a sort of skippy/glitchy sound (especially when modulating pitch directly), as if I were shaking while slowly moving them up and down. I had to take my wheels off before because on arrival of my voyager, a nut was missing on the pitch wheel to secure it. I opened it up again to see what could be causing the problem, and took I found that when I would hold the unsecured pitch/mod wheel, if I pressed in on the plastic part of the wheel towards the metal part that it is connected to while moving the pitch/mod wheel, this skipping goes away, and the modulation is very smooth like it should(?) be. so I'm guessing that I need to do something to tighten the wheels or something to push them in, but I'm not excactly sure how, nor would I want to just go tinkering around with a wrench. I would appreciate it if anyone could give me some advice or offer some actual help, thank you.

Mine just started doing this and I am told I have to replace the assembly. Disappointing for a one year old synth, handled gently and played about 100 days.
