Mooger DVD

How was the video? I have not purchased it yet, as I am waiting on feedback from others first.

The presentation was like a sales pitch & highly repetitive. Like they said Moogers allow tweaking the parameters far above or below other pedals out there... like 12 times. The video was alright but I only heard the left channel, so I panned it to the center so it would come through both L/R speakers, weird.

They should have showed the pedals using more guitar, much more. The best part IMFO was the CP-251 examples. Although really good, I wanted even more but the CP section was in fact decent. I suppose they overused the S&H but overall the DVD is "ALMOST" worth $20.. just not quite.

I give it a 6.

One side is just the unadulterated moogerfooger sound. The other channel is the presenter.

I've watched the videos for the CP-251, MuRF, and FreqBox.

The upside: It's nice to hear demonstrations to supplement the owner's manuals. It did clear up a couple of things I didn't fully understand with the CP-251.

The downside: I expected and hoped to see much more detail and perhaps some really cool tips and tricks. It seemed as if the presenter was rushing and couldn't wait to get through the material.

I watched the vid of the FreqBox - glad I got mine and learned how to use it before I watched that.

i was excited about this, but after seeing the little clip they have on the site i was a bit disappointed...it's made for someone who's never seen a freqbox before...i mean, i'm sure the video has SOME more depth than the basics, but it shouldn't even need the basics in the first place...if you don't have the pedals then you'd have no reason to buy the video and if you've bought the video there's no reason to show you things you couldn't NOT know after having had the pedal for more than five minutes...so i'm a little wary as to how much depth it covers as to different (and less obvious) uses and patches for the pedals...from what others have posted it seems my suspicions are warranted...anyone who's seen it have any more details on how far it goes in its coverage beyond "this pedal does this"?

Maybe they will do an advanced DVD series, perhaps like a dedicated tutorial instead of a video catalog.

But let me be the first to say that I got the first sonic infinity dvd free in the mail when i signed up and it was directly responsible for me purchasing the Ring Mod and really really peaked my interest in the delay and the cp251.

I did buy the Voyager tutorial simply because I had some questions concerning the filter section (resonance and spacing and the decay/sustain knobs) and I thoroughly enjoyed it except that I was really looking to see him set up the RME and get some of that polyphony thats so revered.

I wish that in the future editions they would spend some time on the control voltage features perhaps by actively editing the video instead of doing it in 1 take.

Some moog stuff you just can't get your eyes on depending on where you live because there aren't a vast amount of dealers that carry their line, so its wonderful to hear these products being demonstrated. Its almost as good as messing with it yourself, but we all know that touching one of these things is difficult if we don't have the money for it right then and there.

I was impresed with the build of the Freq box, I didn't hear it though because my friend blew it up. I was really looking forward to seeing how my MicroMoog would control the oscilator and also wondering how my Ring Mod's LFO could control the freq.

Other than that, I think that more companies shoudl have this sort of Video catalog.

Just so theres no outrage or miscommunication going on...... hehe

Over a year ago, the sonic infinity series was launched with the first DVD. It was a Brian Kehew clinic demonstrating the Foogers through up to the MURF and Delay pedals, the Voyager and the 2 expansion boxes. There was a link on the homepage, "If you are interested in the Sonic Infinity series, just give us your email and your addres and we will send you one." I signed up for it and got it. It is pre-Freq/LP and is just a basic overview of some of the features.

Granted, I don't know if they still offer it, or what but Im sure glad that I got it because I know that it was directly responsible for me getting the Ring Modulator and also for peaking my interest in that product line whereas before I had no interest in them.
