MF103 12-stage sync problem

Post by Neekau » Tue Feb 27, 2007 4:27 pm

I guys,

I just bought a 2nd hand mf103, which sounds weird, like if stages/filters weren't synchronized... it happens only in 12-stage mode

here is a sample:

what do you think ? is the fact that we can hear distinctly different sweeps normal ?

thanks

That doesn't sound normal to me, though I don't have a Phaser of my own. It almost sounds like a phaser through a delay. Weird, but very cool sounding.

thanks for your comments guys, this is 'just' a voyager preset in the mf103, but the delay impression is exactly my concern...

Yes - does not sound "normal" to me, though it doesn't sound bad! I wish I could help! Maybe you should email Moog directly...

i dunno...that sounds exactly what mine sounds like in the 12 stage mode with the resonance turned up and the speed at sort of medium. The 12 stage does sort of give that delayish quality...especially with the resonance up...if you turn the speed and resonance down it should give a sort of flanger sound. the six stage mode is where you get the real traditional phaser style sounds

Thanks for your comments !

It definitely makes huuuuuge sounds, but this delay between stages made me doubt

BTW, increasing max reso with CV (like voyager mod wheel) is killing everything... brrr...
