Hi everyone,
I’m using an MF102 along with the MF101 and MF103, and I’d like to trigger the MF102’s oscillator from a MIDI keyboard. My initial thought is to use a Kenton CV-MIDI converter, but since the MF102 doesn’t have a Gate input, I’m unsure whether this setup will function properly.
Has anyone tried this, or can confirm if it works before I invest in the Kenton unit? Any advice or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Triggering MF102 Oscillator via MIDI Keyboard – Will Kenton CV-MIDI Work?

Re: Triggering MF102 Oscillator via MIDI Keyboard – Will Kenton CV-MIDI Work?
Hi Cautioussign, welcome to the forum!
Not sure to fully understand what you mean by "trigger the oscillator".
The oscillator is free-running and there is no envelope to trigger on the MF-102.
You may be able to control the oscillator pitch with a MIDI keyboard using a MIDI-to-CV converter, but what you would get is a continuous signal through the appropriate output of the MF (CARRIER OUT, I guess) or for shaping the effect.
Now antoher question is: is the oscillator controllable with a 1V/oct CV? The manual doesn't seem to answer this.
Anyone?
