Suddenly my Moog One makes no sound. I tried resetting factory settings from the menu, and reinstalled the 1.5 firmware. Still nothing coming from either main outputs or headphone outputs. But if I turn up the volume knobs of either mains or headphones, I can hear plenty of noise floor at the top of the knob. So my audio systems are working....the synth is just not producing "SYNTH". Of course all volume is turned up....filter up....envelopes up....doesn't matter what preset patch I play....no sound. Otherwise, the synth seems to be functioning normally....full knob function and full screen function. Power cycling is of no help. A very few of the presets which use heavy effects, I can hear some subtle effects (like the whoosh of a flanger).....but not the oscillators or the patch.
Any ideas or prior similar stories?
Moog One suddenly makes no sound
Re: Moog One suddenly makes no sound
SOLVED my own issue with the Moog One! Apparently....if you unplug an expression pedal from the Moog One, you must also turn the Expression Pedal setting to OFF in the Utility Menu.....otherwise, the sound completely quits! Apparently (I am speculating) the pedal jacks work from voltage, and if you don't have the pedal plugged in, its expecting a high voltage, is getting a low voltage (from there being nothing plugged in), and sets the assigned parameters to low. No sound! Plug the pedal back in....normal sound. Unplug the pedal while holding some notes playing nicely...and the volume drops to zero (shockingly!). Turn the Exp 1 settings to NONE in the utility menu....everything works normally. Never had a synth act this way before with a pedal unplugged. But...alas...all is well. No issues....just FREAKED me out for about 45 minutes!!!
