Matriarch Tie Function Coming on Automatically

For some reason whenever I record a sequence and then play it back the Tie button starts flash and my sequence stutters. I never press tie before or during recording a sequence and the light is off. But when I press hold and play and press a note to start the sequence, a second or two into the sequence tie starts to flash. When I press it to try and turn it off or stop it it doesn't stop. Anyone ever seen this? I've had the Matriarch for two years and this never happened until today.
