Hello,
I bought an old Moog Voyager several years ago, and notes occasionally get stuck, and it also plays notes other than the ones I play on the keyboard. The problem is difficult to duplicate because it appears to occur at random.
When this happens, my Voyager is rendered unusable. Switching it off and on again is ineffective, as is the "all notes off" option. The only solution is to disconnect the Voyager and leave it unplugged for many weeks to a month. The problem does not appear to reemerge for several months, but it will return eventually.
I'm wondering if this is caused by a defective capacitor, because unplugging it for a while appears to resolve the problem, if temporarily. It's only a guess, and given my minimal knowledge of electrical engineering, I'm probably mistaken.
I contacted Moog about this years ago when I first noticed the problem, but I never took my Voyager in for repairs because the problem appeared to resolve itself. I'm not sure Moog technicians would be able to help because the problem could cure itself while in travel to the Moog factory.
Has anyone else had a similar issue with their Voyager? Were you able to find a permanent solution?

Re: Notes hung randomly on Voyager
Did this happen with MIDi cables connected? If yes, it might be a MIDI related problem. If not, it might be a hardware problem.ploauieads wrote: Sun May 05, 2024 9:46 pm...I bought an old Moog Voyager several years ago, and notes occasionally get stuck, and it also plays notes other than the ones I play on the keyboard.
