Matriarch and Roli Seaboard Block

Post by matriarchy » Fri Mar 13, 2020 10:41 pm

I just got a Seaboard today and went back and forth between it and the Matriarch to get the settings dialed in. I am getting what I think is the expected response from the glide, pressure(aftertouch), slide, and strike(velocity) "dimensions", but I'm looking to refine them a bit, especially the glide. I set the pitch bend range in the Roli to 12, which is what the Matriarch manual says is the max in the custom global settings - I also set that to 12. It is accurate but choppy/quantized, unless I push very hard on the Roli bottom strip while sliding. I tried multiple pressure settings from the Roli Dashboard. I also get a lot of glitch sounds while playing, like there is a confused computer in there. I'm using a USB-MIDI host off Amazon.

To avoid any confusion with other potential phenomena, I did most of my testing without the aftertouch or velocity patched, and with the filter open with no res or tracking on a single triangle wave.

Anyone get this dialed in really well? Any other tips and tricks for those of us that are not MIDI experts? I'd love to see what potential I may be missing. Thanks!
