I took the time this weekend to organize all the sounds with the new OS 3.2 sound category feature. I used the SoundTower Moog Editor to do this. You will need the V3 hardware upgrade which gives you seven banks, OS 3.2, and the editor. I also took the time to create patch sheets that list each patches: patch number, category, name, and I left room for your own personal notes. You will need Microsoft Word to open this file since it is a .doc file. I find it much easier to scan through the presets now for a sound close to what I am looking for to further tweak. The banks include most of the Squarewave patches that have been posted (that I liked) and all the Moog factory sounds. There is room at the end of all the banks to save your own sounds (anywhere from 1 - 9 open slots per bank). The patch sheets just list the numbers for these patches and leave everything else blank for your convenience as you decide to add patches to these locations.
I hope it is helpful to someone else. As always have fun and keep on moogin...

Thank your for organizing all of the presets. I like the categories you used. I did something like that a year ago but I divided up all of the presets into individual sysex files. I also had a category for S&H presets. I was curious what your criteria for presets you categorized as Synth. I printed out your lists of presets which is a very useful resource. I don't have the multi bank upgrade or the edtior program. Is there anyway to convert the bank files to sysex? In the alternative, (I'm very hesitant to send my voyager in for the upgrade) if I obtain the the editor program is it possible to use just the program to acess the preset baks with a non modified voyager?
Thanks again for organizing the presets,
Paul

The new version 3.2 update added sound categories. The update to the Moog editor, allowed you to quickly sort these into Moog's new sound category feature. All that was left to do then was arbitrarily decide which category the sounds I downloaded from Squarewave and my own few presets fit into. This organized bank allows me to look at a sound category and find a sound close to what fits the song I am working on and I can then further tweak that preset to perfection or just use it if it sounds perfect for the song as is. It has saved me tons of time because with 7 banks of 128 possible sounds it can be otherwise overwhelming. I am glad you will find use for it as well.

OS 3.2 added 32 sound categories to the Voyager. The category names are coded into the Voyager's firmware, so you can't change them. By default, the Editor Librarian category names match the same 32 categories in the Voyager, but these names can be changed if you wish (they always could - it was, and still is a customizable feature).
What this means is if you change an Editor Librarian category (let's say, category 29, 'Bright Bass') to 'My Fat Basses', all of the presets you assign to this new category will show up as 'Bright Bass' when you transfer them to the Voyager (category 29 in the Voyager is always 'Bright Bass' regardless of what the Editor name is).
Just an FYI.
