Voyager Distortion Issue

Post by jnastasi » Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:33 pm

I have a Voyager one of the last batch made, that I've owned for almost 2 years. In a smoke free studio, moved only once, in my car. It has been pampered.

I played it in the morning for about an hour and all was fine. I kept in on for about 6 hours and started playing again. The same patch I was playing was getting this distorted pulse. The timing was not associated with the LFO and am not using MIDI on it. It disappears if I lower the cutoff frequency enough. If I open up the filter cutoff all the way, it really screeches.

I shut it down and am letting it sit for a while. The main box did not feel warm or anything. I'm totally bummed out.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
Joe

Joe, I found your Forum post. My Select Series started doing this weird distortion. It sounds like the VCA mod has been applied and at full rate. So strange. Any ideas if you managed to fix yours at all? Nige

Hi Nige,

Moog Music had me send in the analog board, which they tested and replaced. When I reinstalled it, the problem went away.

HTH,
Joe
