Editor Update?

Post by cyberghostx13 » Mon Apr 24, 2017 3:46 pm

I'm brand new to this and I have registered my Moog Sub 37, however I did not upload Editor yet. My question is, is the download of Editor for MIDI only or what? As a newbie I'm kinda far away from implementing MIDI anytime soon as I learn the basics of my 37 including a lot of study and reading about synth and sound. So should I download now or wait until I have a handle on MIDI? Thanks. Later.

You don't need to know MIDI as such to use the editor. You'll need to install the USB driver that comes with the editor. When that's done you just start the editor and away you go. It's not only useful for remote editing and analyzing patches (by seeing how they're made), but also for managing patches with the librarian (sending patches and banks to and from the synth, trying patches you find online etc.).

Thanks so much for your valuable input/info Dr. Justice as it sure helps this "Grasshopper". I want to also thank you Breun for your heads up on USB. I am all Apple(iPad 3rd, MacBook/7yrs, Apple TV and iMac).Since Dr.J explained that Editor is for a lot more than MIDI, I will check out download, question is my MacBook is closer(few feet) but twice as old as my iMac which sits in the kitchen(Computer base station on 2 tier table). Hopefully my MacBook will work, but I can carry my 37 to kitchen if need be. Thanks again, later.
