Hi all.

I just got my Sub 37 a few days ago and I've been looking for a stand for it. There doesn't seem to be much out there. In fact, I haven't found anything I'd consider suitable.

What do you folks use to prop up this beautiful little synth?

How do you play the synth live? Or is the stand for studio use?

I use an X stand on the highest setting when I only have my S37 for a gig and stand. If I am playing my Nord Stage at the same time, I put it on the same X stand with a second tier that holds it pretty well. At home I built some shelves to house all the small synth stuff.

Just about any stand should work. What are reasons you don't consider a stand 'suitable'? Suitable for what exactly?

My Sub 37 just showed up, and I was just about to post the same question. I'm guessing your suitable request involves getting the right width (slim) without being too wobbly? I decided to jump the gun and get this.

The width looks kinda close, but the price is fantastic, and all the reviews say it's rock solid. I may have to remove the Sub's feet, or make a little wooden tray, We'll see soon!

My Sub 37 sits on a Quiklok T-22, because I wanted a compact stand for two synths. Works fine, compact for transportation (gigs).

That looks like a second tier on a "X" stand but just used from the other side, so the keyboard tilts away from her instead of towards her.

It's purely for studio use.

I think most stands are too wide. For example, I have a Roland KS-18Z for my JD-XA. I've tried my Sub 37 on it and it's too narrow. One bump and the Sub will fall through the middle.

Ideally what I want is a Z-style stand (for stability) but made especially for smaller synths like the 37 / Phatty. I'm amazed that such a thing doesn't seem to exist.

Your right, most are for larger synths. This one seems to be the best fit for a Z stand...

But I cheaped out and risked going with the slight wider, but much cheaper Z stand I posted above. Here it is.

Only half the price, andt more heavy duty, but 1" wider, which get kinda iffy. I could tell you more in a week.

I went with the Proline branded version of the Onstage Z stand, and it works great with the Sub 37. I use it as it's narrowest setting, and it is then nearly six inches narrower than the synth. In this configuration, it is very stable. I also got the second tier which I use for either the Slim Phatty or Minilogue.

Ive been using the strukture stands, B@h used to carry them but not anymore, super sturdy and they make a few versions..

Hi aled,

While Z stands are certainly sturdy, I always find my legs hitting the middle bar when sitting down.

When standing up, the Z stands won't get tall enough for me (I'm 6' 2".)

I've used both of these stands for my Little Phatty, Sub 37, and the new minimoog Model D.

Stylistically, I like them because their width can be compressed so that the legs seem to exactly come from the corners of whatever keyboard you put on them. It's a very clean look; and nothing gets in the way of your pedals (even organ pedals).

Ergonomically, I like them because, at 6' 2", I can stand up tall and play.

Hmmm. I hadn't considered a table-like stand before. Your point about the legs looking like they come from the corners of the keyboard appeals to me a lot.

I'm a big fan of Quiklok stands (http://www.quiklok.com/).

I'm reorganising/downsizing my personal studio space and redecorating, so stuff is all over the place with my Sub-37 currently sitting on an 'Addis Cirrus' Ironing Board - it's a bit wobbly for fast passages and I need to take it off when I need to iron my shirts.
