Midi noise and offset midi output

Post by Johnnyaardvark » Thu Nov 24, 2016 10:01 am

Hi.

I have a problem with the space around my midi out port. It still works but the outer I think aluminium casing is so close to the edge of the midi out din that it stops me pushing the cable all the way in. Midi in/out still works but what is more of a concern is that the metal casing of the din plug contacts with the metal casing of the sub37.

I don't know if this is connected but I have at times heard noise in my audio signal path while turning knobs. I have wondered if this static like sound is interference from midi data. Only happens while turning controls and I suspect could be connected to and combined with ground loop issue and the metal contact with moog sub case.

Have simplified my setup for now so currently no issues but a little scared to use the midi out!

Are there any no noes in terms of creating loops with midi out thru and in?

Re the misslocated midi i/o. I think I am out of warranty here in the UK as decided to live with it for 6 months.

Thoughts? Options?

Thanks

Steve
