cp-251 lfo speed drifting

Post by oddmusic » Wed Apr 05, 2006 5:11 pm

simple setup - cp-251 sample & hold output 1 into the cutoff of a mf-101

with the lfo rate knob at about the center position, giving about 3 or 4 pulses per second on the filter, I noticed that sometimes within the span of a few minutes that the rate will speed up noticeably. Not insane, but well enough for anyone to notice the speed increase.

Anyone ever have an issue like that? Should I expect the rate to pretty much stay exactly where it is, whether it's been only 10 minutes or turned of for a week.

Never really used it for that purpose before, even though it's over a year old.

That's definitely not normal. Have you tried patching the LFO directly to cutoff or the S&H to another input and see if it still does that?

It could even be something as simple as a bad patch cord. A static-y connection could cause the clock rate to seem to intermittantly schitz out like this.
