Hi Guys,
I'm new to hardware and have just purchased a Moog Sub 37. I love it, however, i'm having really bad problems getting it to work in logic x. I have an Akai Professional audio interface and connect my Sub 37 to that via an instrument cable and then plug the usb from the Moog to my mac. When i open Logic i can record audio fine but when i record midi via either an external midi track or software instrument it doesn't work. There's an audio signal coming through on the external midi track and sometimes when i press record it does draw the midi in, but only sometimes. However, when i go to play the midi back it doesn't play. Ive tried messing with the midi settings in the Moog, turning Local off, but then getting absolutely no sound what so ever from the moog. I've re downloaded the latest firmware, searched various forums/youtube videos and everyone else seems to just plug it in, set up a midi track, play it and then then hear it back. I'm sure it's something simple but i'm pretty clueless when it comes to hardware, even the ones that are supposed to be simple.
Any help would be massively appreciated and i've already got in touch with Moog to see if they can help.
Thanks.
Problems Hearing Midi in Logic x
Re: Problems Hearing Midi in Logic x
this is actually one of my problems too. im thinking it's probably got something to do with logic sending some midi that resets something from the moog. last week it was functioning ok for me, but now something seems to have changed. hope someone can help us out.

Exact same problem. My Sub Phatty seems to be acting as a MIDI controller and will play VST's but won't play the actual Moog, although it will record in midi but the midi has no sound to it. Cannot figure out how to get this thing recording in as editable midi. Helllllllpkarlos3112 wrote:Hi Guys,

Re: Problems Hearing Midi in Logic x
Hey guys, I just figured this out so thought I'd share how I did; I literally only had to update the synths firmware, the update software is on the Moog website. All you have to do is download it and follow the instructions. Plug in your Moog via USB, use the update software and then after that, when the synth is plugged in via USB it should simply show in Logic when you click New Track> External MIDI> and select your synth in the library on the right hand side. After doing that hit record and play the synth and it should write to MIDI which you can edit like any other MIDI and you're away. Hope this works for you guys.
