0-10V cv

Post by spoitras » Fri Jun 10, 2016 11:58 am

Sorry if this is a stupid, question, but I'm rather new to the world of control voltage.

A number of patch points on the Mother 32 accept control voltage in a range from -5V to 5V, or 10Vpp. I have a rather interesting control voltage source that outputs in the 0-10V range. At first, I assumed I would need to bias those signals with -5V, but the Mother 32 seems to respond quite well to 0-10V without the bias.

What gives? My guess is that it has something to do with the ground reference being different in the modules and it works because the control voltage is 10Vpp and references -5V as its GND, but, as I said, I'm rather new to controlling music with voltage...

Any clues?

Sylvain
