you can crank the filter wide open for full skunk or you can crank it down to fresh mountain air.

...and while everyone anxiously awaits the big announcement - I'm having fun with my Voyager!

Truth is, even after Moog announces the LP, it'll be weeks if not months before you will see them in the store. In the meantime, why not go make some music with what you have? And if that happens to be a Voyager, rest assured that you've got more music making power in your hands right now than you will see in the LP.

I enjoy the speculation as much as anyone, but this is simply too much!

I'm going back into my studio...

Jealous? I think not! :-)

Regardless of how gorgeous the LP turns out to be (and I'm sure it will be VERY nice), specs are specs, and the LP specs out as a subset of the Voyager. Two oscillators vs three, a single limited mod matrix instead of two highly flexible ones, one filter/VCA instead of two, etc. Not that I expect the LP to sound any less fantastic than the Voyager, it simply doesn't have the goods when you compare it to the Voyager.

If the LP is your first analog synth, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it, but if you already have a Voyager (or RME), the LP will probably seem lacking by comparison.

I would bet that the people who are chomping at the bit to see the new synth will be the very same ones who will complain later about what it doesn't have. In fact, there are already complaints about the lack of CV outputs, no sequencer, etc., and I'm sure this will continue in these forums.

And so I will return to my studio, fire up the Voyager, and delight in its amazing sound and sonic flexibility.
