CHVRCHES

Post by jsharpphoto » Fri Nov 06, 2015 10:25 am

I saw CHVRCHES live in Dallas last night. Amazing show. Unfortunately the only Moog gear was their Voyager. Lots of DSI stuff. A pro2, and a prophet6, from what I could tell. Lauren did play what looked like a set of Moog percussion triggers, but from that distance, they could have been any black drum-style triggers.

Anyone else see them on this tour? They are one of a few bands that I actually still wanted to see, and they did not disappoint.

I am quite jealous - I would love to see them live, based on the live YouTube performances. Second album is really good too, did not disappoint after their great debut.

Did you see their Moog Lab session? They played plenty of Moog gear then :)

Yes. The new album is great. I love their sound lab performance. And the used a minitaur for all of the bass on their radio show performances.

Them, and Neon Indian, have renewed my faith in analog synth pop.

sounds great! you should also check out Washed Out, as well as Chromatics. Beautiful music. Some of M83's stuff is good too.

I'm a huge m83 fan, I just don't really think of it as synth pop.

This band's not quite to my tastes, but along a similar line you might try Little Dragon. Excellent live in concert!

I think Little Dragon has an interesting mix of timbres, but not quite my jam. It's very early 90's r n' b. I meant that in a good way. Just too much digital synth for me.
