delay=wind?

Post by extemporary » Fri Feb 17, 2006 3:06 pm

After setting the drive and output levels of the 104Z i noticed a strange wind like sweeping being ommitted from the pedal when on. It is comparable to the hum of my amp at louder volumes, and was wondering if it was only mine or if it was a staple of the circuitry. This pedal is amazing and infinitely tweakable in terms of delay, it is perfect save the hum, i can live with it but it is obnoxious as i leave the pedal on all the time as a reverb setting and then crank up the mix for delay.

not really sure if what you're describing is the same thing, but there's this thread:

my pedal definitely does have some excess noise/hum, which i assume is just part of the bb/analog circuitry. the "wind" or "hum" or whatever goes away when i turn my pedal to 100% dry, and then increases until i get up to a 50/50 mix. on shorter delay settings (less than 250ms or so) i don't get a lot of noise/hum.
