First of all, glad to be a new Moog/Minitaur owner, my first hardware synthesizer! (yay!)

However, I'm in desperate need of help, and believe me, I've been researching for days now, trying to work a solution before posting. I hope I can get some help, as it would be pretty sad if I have to return this gear.
My issues may not be one from one source, so hopefully there are experienced people out there who can figure this out maybe. (Amos, I could use your super genius here lol)
Anyway, here goes, I'll start off with my system specs:
I'm running:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface
Oxygen 49 USB keyboard controller
DAW: Cubase 7 64-bit (version 7.0.7)
FL Studio 11 Producer Edition
Setup chain: USB Keyboard controller hooked to Computer, controlling Minitaur via MIDI-OX and LoopBe
Minitaur hooked to Computer via USB
Minitaur hooked to Input 1 of Scarlett 2i2 audio interface using Line cable
Now the whole reason I got a Minitaur was so I could record it as MIDI, like it was shown in the Minitaur+Ableton Live demo video by Amos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgSVseNpDUU). I don't want to commit to just audio all the time, I want drop down notes with my USB keyboard controller as midi (in the piano roll, or however) and then make automation and parameter tweaks later.
Now the issues are:
Since my keyboard is USB only, I've had to learn how to use MIDI-OX and LoopBe (read from http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=14726).
Problems:
1. My Minitaur's firmware always shows "Disconnected" or "Hardware Disconnected" in standalone and plugin, so I don't even know if the REV 2 firmware update I went through was successful, which is frustrating.
2. Standalone editor works, but in either DAW, the 32-bit version plugin does not work at all, just the 64-bit one. (and only as an "effect", see next point)
3. In Fl Studio, I cannot load the Editor as an instrument/vst, only as an effect. (I get the "you tried to load an effect as a vst" error) *haven't tried Cubase but I believe it's the same issue.
4. In Fl Studio, when I do add Editor as an effect and THEN try to add it as an instrument/vst, I get this error instead: "Please make sure that the file C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Moog Music Inc.\Minitaur\minitaur MidiPortHandler.exe is present on your computer (which I checked and it is) *haven't tried in Cubase but I believe it's the same issue.
Now what DOES work:
I AM able to see parameter changes simultaneously from the Minitaur and the on-screen Editor. For example, if I tweak the Cutoff on the physical Minitaur hardware, I can see the changes in real time on the screen, and vice versa, if I make changes on-screen with Editor, I can hear the changes or see the on/off switches. (This applies only when I have "LoopBe" selected in Midi Output of Editor Setup)
However, I still don't know how to record my performances as MIDI and make subsequent changes without committing to audio, in either DAW.
Now admittedly, I'm not the best when it comes to understanding the MIDI system, I have a general idea, but how to set things properly, I'm not too sure. However, I AM good with computers, so I can learn quickly. Also, I haven't really tried working around Cubase too much, but I think the problem still persists there afaik.
I'd really like to resolve all my issues if possible, like I said, the whole reason I got my Minitaur was for its MIDI automation capabilities, and I will unfortunately have to return it if I can't get it to work
