Surge Protectors / Power Conditioners for Voyagers

Post by Abstractionisms » Mon Dec 16, 2013 7:53 am

Hi there,

Does anybody have any general knowledge on what a good surge protector
for a Moog Voyager would be?

I know that nothing will *guarantee* that my Voyager is safe,
but I am looking for something that will increase the chances
of it surviving in case something does happen.

Any info / advice is encouraged.

Thanks!

A surge protector will only protect your valuable equipment from surges and spikes. What you want for real protection is a Voltage Regulator, like the Furman AR-1215. This unit will sacrifice itself if it receives incorrect voltage, like a lightening strike (which a surge protector won't do squat for) or if the voltage drops too low. Of course, it will cost a lot more than a surge protector... New, the AR-1215 goes for USD $550. And that's their cheapest one...
