Hi Folks,
Got me baffled this one!
I'm trying to use the MIDI I/O on the SP to control an external synth set up as an external instrument in my daw (Cubase 7). I've tried all configurations, and the only way I can play the external synth from my master keyboard (Via the SP MIDI) is to set the midi output in the external instrument to SubPhatty, as appose to the two extra midi ports that show up in device manager for the SP (they don't appear to do anything!).
Sorry if that sounds confusing but as an example.... My King Korg also has USB and traditional MIDI I/O, so I'm using the good old fashioned din to run my JD-990 module. There are two selections in the midi device manager so it's pretty transparent which is which but it works independently, i.e I can run the internal korg sounds and the JD at the same time both as external instruments no problem.
I've tried various settings in the SP editor, merge etc but I can't find much info. I've created some nice feedback and that's about it!
Is the MIDI on the SP designed to act as an independent device or is it simply there for good old fashioned din connectivity?!
Any help much appreciated!
Cheers.
Using Sub Phatty as a MIDI interface?

No one from Moog can step up here and answer this? Info on such stuff seems somewhat cryptic. I've solved my connectivity via another piece of usb gear also with DIN connections, they work just fine unlike the SP.

Re: Using Sub Phatty as a MIDI interface?
Have you set the MIDI Output Select parameter to MIDI Out & USB Port?
Re: Using Sub Phatty as a MIDI interface?
And Merge to both? This is a hidden parameter, btw...
